    Frequently Asked Questions

KIng's Teachers will automatically send King's IT a request to create an affiliate account for new users to King's Teachers. This process is triggered at the point a GTA/HPL accepts their first assignment on King's Teachers. King's IT have a 5 day turn around time to action this request. The GTA/HPL will receive an email from King's IT with instructions on activating their new email account.

The normal expectation is that full time PhD students can be offered work up to 312 hours in any one academic year, to allow them time to focus on their research and studies. Hours includes all activities listed in the GTA framework.

All guidance is covered within the GTA framework including activities a GTA should and should not carry out. Click here to see the GTA Framework . GTAs will be offered assignments with a workplan that details which activities they are being asked to do, the duration, frequency and number of groups (if applicable). When a GTA claims their hours worked, they submit a timesheet which will be broken down by activites as clearly stated in their workplans.

Our GTA employees will be given a single contract at the point they accept their first assignment. New assignments or adjustments to assignments will then fall under that contract, so that only the assignments change not the contract.

All hiring manager queries are resolved within one working day from receipt. All employee queries are resolved within 2 working days from receipt.
